How it works
From request to handoff, step by step
ColiGo connects two people who share a common interest: one needs to send a package, the other is already making that trip. Here is exactly how it works, for the sender and for the traveler — and what happens after the package is delivered.
Sender
Send a package
You have a package to get to someone in another country. Here is exactly how it works, from posting to the final review.
-
Complete your profile and verify your identity
Before posting anything, complete your profile and submit an ID document (national ID, resident card, passport, work permit or driving licence, depending on your country). This is a requirement, not an option: without a verified identity, you cannot post a request or contact anyone.
-
Describe your package
Origin, destination, approximate weight, category (clothing, documents, electronics, and more) and, if relevant, special conditions like fragile or keep dry. A clear photo and description help travelers seriously assess your request before making an offer.
-
Check the prohibited items
The list shown is specific to the origin and destination you chose — it changes from one route to another. Check it before posting: a package containing an item not allowed on that route should never be offered to a traveler.
-
Receive and compare offers
Verified travelers already making this trip offer to carry your package. Check their rating, reviews and trust level before replying — nothing obliges you to accept the first offer you receive.
-
Boost your request for more visibility, if you want
With credits, you can push your request to the top of search results for 7 days. It's purely about visibility, never a shortcut: no boosted request is accepted automatically, the traveler stays entirely free to choose.
-
Agree on the amount, in the messaging
Chat directly with the traveler in the app's built-in messaging — no need to ever share your phone number or email. You set the terms yourself; ColiGo takes no commission on this amount.
-
Secure handoff: the pickup code
As soon as you accept an offer, a first six-digit code is generated. You give it to the traveler the moment you hand over the package in person; they enter it in the app to confirm the pickup took place.
-
Final handoff and review
A second, different code confirms the handoff to the recipient on arrival. Once both you and the traveler have confirmed the delivery in the app, the shipment is marked complete and you can rate your traveler — your review stays visible on their profile for future senders.
Traveler
Travel with free space
You are already heading to a destination and have room in your luggage. Here is exactly how to turn that free space into extra income.
-
Complete your profile and verify your identity
Same requirement as for a sender: a complete profile and a verified identity (an official ID document depending on your country) before you can post a trip or make an offer. A safety measure for the whole community, not an option.
-
Post your trip
Departure city, destination, departure date (and arrival date if you know it), and the weight actually available in your luggage. The more precise your listing, the more the requests you receive will truly match your trip.
-
Receive requests
Senders on that route contact you, with the package's details, weight, category and exact destination. You see everything before replying, with no commitment.
-
Check before accepting
Check the list of prohibited or regulated items for this specific route — it changes depending on the origin and destination. You remain solely responsible for what you carry in your luggage; ColiGo does not physically inspect the contents.
-
Make an offer, or boost your trip
Agree on the amount with the sender directly in the built-in messaging. You can also use credits to boost your trip for 7 days and increase your chances of receiving requests on this route.
-
Confirm pickup
The moment you physically receive the package, the sender gives you a first six-digit code that you enter in the app — with a photo if you like. This officially confirms the pickup took place.
-
Final handoff: the second code
At the destination, the recipient gives you a second code, different from the first, which you enter in the app to confirm the handoff. You confirm your side of the delivery; the sender confirms theirs — the shipment only closes once both confirmations are in.
-
Build your track record
Once the shipment is complete, the sender rates you on transport quality, communication and punctuality. These reviews, along with your number of successful deliveries, build the trust level (bronze, silver, gold) shown on your profile.

Why everything starts with identity verification
You can browse ColiGo freely without any verification. But posting a request, a trip, or contacting someone requires a complete profile and a verified identity — no exceptions.
-
Accepted documents
National ID, permanent resident card, passport, work permit or driving licence — which ones you're offered depends on your country. You upload a photo of the front, and the back if the document has one.
-
Your verification status
Your submission moves to "pending" the moment you send it, then to "approved" or "rejected" with a specific reason if something is off. You can resubmit at any time; a new submission simply replaces the previous one.
-
What verification unlocks
Posting a request or a trip, and contacting another user. Browsing published listings stays open to everyone, verified or not.
At the heart of trust
Secure handoff, code by code
Two in-person handoffs, two separate codes, two separate confirmations in the app. This is the mechanism that makes trust possible between two people who, most of the time, have never met before.
-
First code — pickup
Generated automatically when the offer is accepted. The sender gives it to the traveler the moment they hand over the package; a photo of the closed package can be added at the same time, as a reference for both parties.
-
Second code — final handoff
Generated for the handover to the recipient, always different from the first. The traveler enters it, again with an optional photo — leaving a clear record of each physical step of the shipment.
-
Dual confirmation
Once the second code is entered, the sender and the traveler must each confirm the delivery, separately, in the app. The shipment only closes — and the conversation only locks — once both have done so. No one can unilaterally declare "it's delivered."
After the handoff
Reviews and trust level
Once a shipment is complete, the sender and the traveler rate each other. These reviews — and a track record of successful deliveries — are what let the community trust each other without a middleman.

Trust levels
Calculated from a traveler's number of successful deliveries, a level — bronze, silver or gold — shows as a badge on their profile. A brand-new traveler shows no level at all: better that than a badge that would read like a red flag.
Keep in mind
What ColiGo does, and what it does not
-
No commission on the transport itself
The amount agreed between the sender and the traveler belongs entirely to them. ColiGo takes nothing from that agreement and does not pay it on their behalf.
-
You remain responsible for what you carry
The prohibited items list helps rule out the obvious cases, but the traveler remains responsible for the contents of their luggage under customs and applicable laws.
-
A network that grows with real trips
ColiGo doesn't invent routes: every destination available corresponds to a traveler who is actually making that trip and posted it.
-
ColiGo is not a carrier
We connect people and secure the handoff with codes, but we never take possession of a package and guarantee no delivery.
