Frequently asked questions

Have questions?

How it works, payments, safety, prohibited items: here are the answers to the questions asked most often about ColiGo.

How does ColiGo work?

ColiGo connects people who want to send a package with travelers heading to the same destination who have free space in their luggage.

Is ColiGo a carrier?

No. ColiGo is a platform that connects people — it never takes possession of packages and guarantees no delivery. The transport agreement is made directly between the sender and the traveler.

Does ColiGo handle the transport payment?

No. ColiGo shows the amount agreed between the sender and the traveler, but that payment happens directly between the users, outside the platform.

How does the package handoff work?

A unique code is generated when an offer is accepted: the traveler enters it when picking up the package. A second, separate code is entered at the final handoff to the recipient.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

A complete profile and a verified identity are required before posting a listing or contacting another user. It's a safety measure for the whole community, not an option.

What if an item is prohibited on my route?

Check the list of prohibited or regulated items shown automatically when you create your request — it is specific to the origin and destination you chose.

What are credits and what are they for?

Credits unlock your actions beyond the free monthly limits (offers sent, contacts accepted) and let you feature a request or a trip. A welcome bonus is given at sign-up.

Does ColiGo work for every destination?

ColiGo is not limited to predefined routes: the network relies on the travelers who already post their itinerary, wherever it leads.

What happens if a package is lost or damaged?

ColiGo is not a party to the agreement between the sender and the traveler and disclaims all liability for loss, damage or delay. That's why reviews, verified profiles and photos before handoff matter for choosing who you deal with.

How do I report or block a user?

From a conversation or a profile, you can report suspicious behavior in one tap, or block a user so they can no longer contact you.

How do I delete my account?

Directly from the profile settings in the app, or through our online account deletion form.

How does boosting (featuring) a listing work?

With credits, you can feature a request or a trip for 7 days: it rises to the top of search results. It's purely about visibility — it doesn't force anyone to accept it and guarantees no offer.

What happens if my offer gets declined?

You get a notification and your offer's status changes to "declined". Nothing extra is charged: you can make an offer on another request without losing your credits or your monthly quota.

Can I withdraw an offer I made?

Yes, as long as it is still "pending" and hasn't been accepted. Once withdrawn, the sender can no longer accept it.

What are the free monthly limits, and how do credits unlock them?

Every traveler gets 3 free offers per month; every sender gets 4 free offer acceptances (meaning, contacts with 4 travelers) per month. Beyond that, each extra action costs 1 credit, unless you have an active subscription, which removes the limit entirely while it lasts.

How does the referral program work?

Your personal referral code is generated automatically at sign-up and shown on your profile. When someone signs up using it, their account is linked to yours, and you're notified in the app if it earns you a reward.

What is a recurring shipment template?

If you regularly send a package on the same route — say, every two months — you can save a template with the usual details (weight, category, recipient). ColiGo reminds you when it's time to post a new request, pre-filled from that template.

How do route alerts work?

Subscribe to an origin-destination pair you care about: you get notified the moment a traveler posts a new matching trip, without having to manually check every day.

What is dual delivery confirmation?

At final handoff, the second code alone isn't enough: the sender and the traveler must each confirm the delivery separately in the app. The shipment is only marked complete — and the conversation locked — once both confirmations are in.

What happens if one of us never confirms the delivery?

The shipment simply stays at that step until it's sorted out between you, using the built-in messaging. Either the sender or the traveler can cancel the shipment at any time before it's marked complete, which reposts the request.

Can I cancel a shipment in progress?

Yes, the sender or the traveler can cancel at any time before the shipment is marked complete. The original request then goes back to published, so another traveler can pick it up.

What's the difference between the verified badge and identity verification?

Identity verification is mandatory: without it, you cannot post a listing or contact anyone. The verified badge is an optional paid symbol meant to help you stand out on your profile — the two are independent.

Which documents are accepted for identity verification?

National ID, permanent resident card, passport, work permit or driving licence, depending on what's relevant in your country. You upload a photo of the front, and the back if the document has one.

What happens if my identity verification is rejected?

You see the rejection reason directly in the app, and you can resubmit at any time — the new submission simply replaces the previous one.

Can I use ColiGo without verifying my identity?

You can create a profile and freely browse published requests and trips. But posting a listing or contacting someone requires a verified identity, with no exception.

How are the bronze, silver and gold trust levels calculated?

They're calculated automatically from a traveler's number of successful deliveries and shown as a badge on their profile. A brand-new account shows no level at all rather than a default badge that would mean nothing.

Is my personal contact information visible to the other user?

No. All communication goes through the built-in messaging; your phone number and email are never automatically shared with anyone.

Is the app available in languages other than French and English?

Yes: the ColiGo mobile app is already available in 15 languages. This website, for now, exists in French and English.
